I had my operation in July 2022 after having an MRI at my local hospital. I found Mr. White to be a very caring surgeon who explained all the pros and cons to do with the operation in language that I completely understood. He also kept my family informed and reassured them too. He is a brilliant surgeon and has an incredible team who he works with and I cannot thank them enough for their care whilst I was at the QMC.

In 2008 I had an operation performed by Mr White on a cyst found on the lower spine. 9 years later at a follow up consultation Mr White suggested an aspiration of the cyst, which I agreed to. Now in 2022 because of discomfort Mr White examined an Up-to-date MRI Scan to see if the cyst had spread, fortunately it had not. We discussed the results and I decided to decline a further operation which Mr White was prepared to perform. Agreement was reached to contact him if the pain deteriorated, thus warranting further surgery. Mr White discussed with me in great detail and at great length the advantages and dangers at all the various stages of my treatment listed above. Busy or not he always found time to see me and offer advice. I suppose what I'm trying to say is he steered me through harrowing times and continues to do so, with excellent professional advice coupled with a caring attitude and an optimistic approach From JOHN PANNELL, SPALDING, LINCS

I only met Mr Barrie White after my surgery because of timings and the nature of the speed of the op, but he has basically saved my life. To be honest the entire neuro-surgical team at NUH are fantastic, they are a brilliant and reassuring team. Mr White came to visit me on the ward the next day, gave me full de-brief of the op and told me what to expoect in the future. I have been sent a follow -up appt already in his clinic and he very quickly referred me to neuro-oncology for my next step of treatment.

I met Mr White 7 years ago and the care and professionalism from himself and his team is outstanding. Without his care, I'm not sure I would be writing this 7 years. And still to this day, the care I am receiving is amazing and faultless. Thank you

Mr White and his teams were fantastic all the pre op team all the nurses doctors I had 2 operations with Barrie White I was amazed that all these people came together to reassure and make my time in hospital a good positive experience absolutely professional, complety caring and now complety recovering i have nothing but praise for everyone connected with Barrie teams. I would not pretend I wasn't a little apprehensive but the people in neurosurgery teams whether in the theatre or the wards were wonderful. He contacted my wife after the operations and reassured her which in turn reassured my family. Thank you
